Icontest week 2007
Each year, the marketing department of the 'Leuven University College' organises the 'IconTest'-week. During this week interior and foreign students work on the creation of a new logo for a particular brand, subject or theme. This year, the ToBring service was chosen as subject.
During the week, from 26 march until 30 march, more than 150 students coming from Belgium, Holland, Poland, France, Germany, England, Portugal,... have been working on the creating of a new logo for the ToBring website. All logos have been evaluated by a jury of students, a professional jury and an international jury.
Introductory text IconTest-week
Welcome to the Icontest-week. This week you’ll be working on creating a new logo for the website ToBring.com. The ToBring-service was launched last year in July and acts as a communication portal for all people who want to transport objects or let deliver objects by the other ToBring-members all over the world.
The idea originated 3 years ago when I was renovating my house with my girlfriend. For the renovation I needed a lot of goods. I bought these goods at different locations surrounding my province. I drove my car hours and hours, just to go pickup those goods. After a while I started thinking about the fuel and time loss.
Each day millions of people cover thousands of kilometres a day for work or during their spare time, by car, bicycle, train or airplane. We could make use of these movements to deliver or let deliver packages or goods all over the world. This is why I’ve started the ToBring website. It could be an answer to the increasing fuel prices, the environmental pollution and the growing traffic jams.
ToBring concentrates on both interior and foreign countries. The applications of the service are unlimited: Let deliver your favourite wine by someone who’s going on vacation to the Champagne region in France. Let deliver your goods from a shop 200 kilometres away. Build up your collection with objects coming from all over the world. Do you want to transport some goods but your car is too small? Then you can find a suitable supplier on the ToBring website.
At this very moment ToBring counts more than 400 members, mainly coming from Belgium and Holland. But also people living in France, Canada, Poland, Spain and Italy have found their way to the ToBring website. If we take a closer look to these registrations we see that most of the members are interested in being ‘Supplier of goods’ instead of being ‘Requestor of goods’. To help grow this second group of members we are thinking of setting up a commercial campaign.
Therefore I am looking for a new logo and related slogan to enforce the ToBring vision. We would like a more professional and well-considered logo. I invite you all to search for a new and commercial one. In addition to this, I would like to receive some feedback about what you think about the current website, what should be improved and what you think about the concept of the ToBring service.
I wish you all good luck with this assignment and I’m looking forward impatiently to your ideas, remarks and especially a new ToBring-logo.
And the winner is...
